| Anne Anderson was born and educated in Belfast. She studied graphic design and illustration at Ulster College of Art & Design. She joined Seacourt Print Workshop in 1982 and has since worked primarily in the medium of print. She teaches printmaking at Seacourt and was a founder member of the Board. Since 1986, she has worked as a part-time lecturer at the University of Ulster, Department of Foundation Studies in Art & Design. She is an Associate of the Royal Ulster Academy. "Coming to printmaking from a background of graphic design and illustration, I think I have quite an illustrative approach to my subjects. I have always been fascinated by the echoes of history in the landscape, and recently I have been looking at my own childhood memories. I use various print techniques, depending on the effect I require. Linocuts give a strong graphic image, while etching and aquatint provide a more sensitive result. Collagraph is one of my favourite techniques because of the huge variety of marks produced."
